My brother recently passed while staying at this nursing home it's an older building not the best to look at but I will tell you what he had the best nurses and anyone could ever have they made him very comfortable and everyone was really nice and offered my family great support. In memory of Keith Butler the family thanks you!

If I could rate this home 0 stars I'd give them a -10. My father is a resident there and on hospice. When we first arrived they took his oxygen off to get tubing for it. He sat there with no oxygen on for at least 10 minutes. Mind you, he is on hospice for end stage COPD. They brought a tube that was so short he had to drag the oxygen machine with him. He calls me a couple days later and said they weren't giving him his pain medications which are PRNs (as needed). I had to drive up at midnight to see what was going on with his medications. I ask for a copy of his medication records come to find out they reduced both of his pain medications ML wise and spead out the hours to take them. You ask a nurse the condition of your loved one as you see them deteriorating and they have no answers. Also losing/missing clothes and many other residents have there call buttons on and no one checking on them when they are just sitting at the nursing station talking about their lives. Or times when you call up there to the nurses station and no one answers the phone. So much for "love and compassion". I am looking into a new nursing home the department of health was called - rant over.

My relative was required to be on a low potassium diet due to kidney issues. This was known at the time of admission into the facility. No one monitored his diet. He was given potatoes, concentrated tomato products such as pasta sauces and tomato-based soups, and large glasses of orange juice. How does a healthcare facility not know the basics of a low K diet? When his blood sugar gets too low, give him apple juice or, better yet, glucose tabs, not huge glasses of orange juice!

Although we may be rough around the edges and not as pretty as most places. The love, caring, and understanding that goes on behind these Walls are greater than any one could ever imagine. Our staff goes above and beyond their duties to provide love, caring and understanding to our residents.
