Everyone on April 5th and 7th I came in contact with was professional, and accommodating. I've utilized 2 major health organizations in central pa, "they both could take notes from LGH and U of Penn". Both make it much easier to be a patient. After an exhausting preceedure I was directed to where I thought my car was parked. I walked up & down PL in pouring rain for 20 min. Finally Brenda in motor cart (filled with pansies) stopped to ask if I need help? Offered me to get in as tears poured. She was calm and we pushed my car alarm. She figured out I was on other side and took me right to my car. She is my hero for genuinely caring.

Everyone operating the facilities are very friendly and kind. The buildings seem very new and well laid out. Elevators and automatic doors for handicap patients are very helpful and clean.

Very unprofessional experience here. I had to take my infant to have a blood test done for an allergic reaction. We were recommended from our child’s PCP to get it done ASAP to get answers about our child’s allergy. Our child was too young for a skin test so we scheduled to go here for a blood draw for our infant. It was recommended to come here as one of the few locations locally that would be able to get her in that day. I would NEVER recommend taking your infant to this location for a blood draw or test. They were extremely disorganized and unbelievably unprofessional. We started with one very unsure phlebotomist. He was very nervous when seeing that he had to do a blood draw from my infant. He quickly got another phlebotomist to help. They moved us to another room. After finally getting us in a room, they initially suggested to have my infant lay on an exam table while they drew blood from my infants arms. Throughout the visit hey were scrambling to find the appropriate size needles and to get organized with other needed materials. They ended up calling in another phlebotomist to do the blood draw. She suggested that my infant sit on my lap while she did the blood draw (a much better idea). When they finally started the blood draw my infant started crying (as normal infants do). They started panicking. The phlebotomist doing the draw was commanding the others to get different things, yelling at them to shut the door, and was panicked over all. She was unsuccessful in my infant’s first arm so they decided to try the other. While trying the other arm, they were again not successful. They were stressed and panicked because it was not working. I was trying to comfort my child. In the midst of the last attempt. The phlebotomist performing the blood draw looked me in the eyes and said “This is why I would NEVER bring my child to get testing done.” I was astounded and didn’t know what to say as I was trying to comfort my infant. Ultimately, we were told to come back because they were unsuccessful. I contacted LGH’s customer service. They said that that location is fully equipped to draw blood from infants and there was no reason why it couldn’t be completed. They said they would do an investigation which they did. The results of the investigation explained why there were so much disorganization but they never explained what was happening with unprofessional nature of the phlebotomist. I never received an apology for the statement that was said directly to me. We ended up taking our child to the Children’s Hospital at Hershey where they did a great blood draw in seconds. We’ve been to Hershey multiple times for testing and we’ve only had good experiences.

Excellent facility with multiple doctor practices, lab, radiology, and a quaint cafeteria. Great valet service at the door.
