The members of this church speed down the residential road. In the name of the lord slow down.

I attended Mass here on Sunday, August 28 as a visitor/potential parishioner looking at homes in the area. I am also the a parent of a suicide victim who took his life because of his struggles with gender dysphoria he was Catholic and very involved in the Church. He was rejected cast away by friends when he began to come out and admit his feelings. I was appalled by the Republican campaign speech that was delivered under the guise of a homily. The deacon who preached failed to take into account the aspects of Gospel humility that were present in the readings - and some in the congregation actually applauded! It was the least compassionate homily I have ever heard and reeked of the very thing he claimed to be preaching against: ego. I will never return to this parish and am seriously questioning whether I should continue to practice Catholicism.

As a visitor, the property reminded me of some of the beautiful and historic monasteries of Europe. The residences are built around a lovely and peaceful cloister. What a surprise to come across it in the Southwestern desert! Peace. ~R Writing for Peace . Love . Beauty
