It's a good river for a leisurely trip in the kayak or canoe. I like that it's big enough to catch some nice sized bass and catfish but small and lazy enough I can bring my 3 year old down the river with me. For the most part it seems well maintained and there is a porta potty which is nice when nature calls.

There isn't a place to rent kayaks here. However there are some near by.

Can we bring our own kayaks or is it required to rent?

It's open everyday however its just a park not an establishment. It is free to enter though and there are places nearby to rent kayaks and canoes.
