Absolutely loved this place. The attending staff were so gracious. I didn’t have a mask on hand and they found one for myself and my friend. At my visit they requieres masks and proof of vaccination. Indoors they ambience was very mellow and serene. They have a small waterfall that I could just stare at all day. Their architecture works well and I feel I’m not in NYC when I’m here. I visited to see an exhibition by kazuko miyamoto, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The exhibition was broken into 3 small rooms but I felt completely enthralled and submerged into it. I spent about an hour here. The bathrooms were one of the most cleanest in the city. They were heated and had a bidet option which as a traveler I found so amusing.

A place of language, theatre and arts. I took a free trial Japanese lesson and now am hooked. Japanese culture is truly fascinating. Thank you for offering simple and fun courses.

I actually was here by accident for a meeting with some colleagues. The architecture and art is really cool and it really feels like you're in Japan.

Yes, they definitely did in the past years. Hopefully they will bring them back in 2021!
I don't think so. I know they host art galleries at Japan Society sometimes. But I don't think they do art tours TO Japan and vice versa.
Yes
They're great at JS, just stop by and ask. I've been taking language class for about a year now and they are very helpful. They have a pretty extensive calendar of events so I guess it depends on what information you're looking for.
It is a good place to study Japanese in organized classes. But it is not a place to go to study like a library.
Not a traditional museum, it's gallery, less tgan an hour.
Free to enter (the interior itself is worth seeing), exhibition is usually free on Friday
$12. You can make a reservation online but I went a few days ago without one and was fine.
They have an excellent microchip removal service. Buy one get one half off. The display charges you will have to cover however.
Check their website for hours or a phone number to call.
. It is actually very available on Bing, Google, Yahoo, etc. just be using the Search Words: JAPAN SOCIETY, NEW YORK CITY. .
