Ordered a $75 plate - chef choice. The pieces of fish used were small, thin. Expensive for what I received.

I tried their Kaiseki menu and feels very traditional and may not be everyone’s taste but certainly different from the usual fare. Also tried some Nigiri and while ok not great. I really came here for the history being the very first sushi restaurant in NYC. Quite an accomplishment that they are still in business after all these years. Bravo!

Yes - Nippon has an outdoor seating
I would suggest at the least business casual. I've gone twice in regular clothes and in my work clothes and I felt I had significantly better service with the latter
