Lisa Rosen did a beautiful job restoring two large paintings made by my friend, the great Indian artist Sumatimohan Van. In fact, with respect to one of these paintings, Lisa went beyond what I consider restoration and into the realm of artistic co-creation. I asked her to remove a kind of silver sheen on the faces of two of the women in the painting, a sheen that the artist himself deemed to be the result of a failed experiment, and Lisa was able to do that in a way I would describe as magical. The two "restored" faces are now perfectly harmonious with the rest of the painting. Thank you so much, Lisa!

Lisa Rosen restored two 140 year old French oil on board paintings that had cracked and were severely damaged. I am very pleased with the level of restoration she was able to achieve. Her workmanship is first rate. Her prices were more than competitive with others not just in NYC but along the Eastern Seaboard. She gave a detailed analysis of the paintings’ conditions beforehand and her recommended restoration treatment and followed through exactly as outlined. She was timely in her work and adhered to the quoted price, as well as being professional, friendly and accessible to deal with. I recommend her unreservedly for any oil painting restoration work.

Hello Carol, In answer to your first question: yes, I do clean paintings oil or acrylic on canvas, panel or wall. To find an art appraiser I suggest using google. It might help to add the era in your search. For example: “18th century art appraiser” or “contemporary....”. Thank you for contacting me. Lisa

Without seeing the damage I can’t tell you. If you send a photo we could discuss it.
