I am 63 years old, and recently had an operation to repair a hernia. It was a major injury that fortunately was treatable through laparoscopic surgery. My doctor is simply amazed at how well I tolerated the procedure, and how quickly I have recovered. I was doing Chi Kung in the recovery room, and resumed full training after just one week. True, I have to somewhat rebuild my stamina, which is to be expected from such an ordeal. But there is no doubt that my practice of Ba Gua has helped me persevere with an absolute minimum of stress, strain, pain, and inconvenience. Thank you, Shifu and The Blue Dragon Steve Kobrin Fair Lawn, NJ

The Blue Dragon Martial Arts is a great place to start on your journey to your martial arts or even to perfect it in midway. I have been a student in this Dojang for 6 months and I recommend the Dojang to everyone who is looking forward to being strong in both empty-handed and weapon combat and want to be a martial artist. The Dojang is great in many ways. It has numbers of good instructors and curriculum. Instructors and Shifu are qualified and good caretakers of individuals. There is always a check-system which is personalized to each student. Instructors and Shifu will give instructions on how to stand, how to punch and how to breathe to you personally. I had a lot of problems in my body. Though it was not serious, it was definitely a huge hinder as a beginning martial artists. I had a knee injury and cramped muscles which made me slower. Shifu and instructors gave me stretching methods and strengthening stances which helped me greatly. Now, I am as fast as most of my peer martial artists. Curriculums are phenomenal. It makes you build up your body first, and start on techniques. The curriculums are based on traditionally proven methods which simply works. Although it might be boring and physically enduring at the beginning, it definitely is rewarding when you have total control of your body after basic training. I have done a few martial arts before, and I was not satisfied with how many limitations I had on my movement. I knew how to punch, but not efficiently. I knew how to kick, but not fast enough. I knew how to use a spear, but usually, lose in sparring. After 6 months of training, I was able to punch efficiently, kick faster, and win sparrings. The weapon training is exceptional. The Dojang has-- as I have mentioned before--traditionally proven methods and techniques. I have been learning and using a spear for a year before participating in the Dojang. Though I had a good teacher, I always found myself shorthanded when it comes to my techniques. In the Dojang, I participated in a seminar which taught me how to use a spear, and just after a few months of training as given methods, I found myself winning a lot more than before. Though I have also learned to not attached by the winning and losing, and ironically, that makes me win more than before. Also, the Dojang also teaches you to master life, rather than a mindless fighter. Shifu and instructors constantly remind you of how to deal with your life and how to not be attached to pointless things.. Which, as I mentioned, ironically makes you a better fighter and a person. I have reduced my overall stress in my life significantly after listening to the Shifu and instructors. In conclusion, the Blue Dragon Martial Arts is a great place if you want to be a martial artist or want to be a better martial artist. It has Shifu and instructors with great methods and curriculums provided to you personally. It makes you into a true martial artist who will take things easier in life. I highly recommend Blue Dragon Martial Arts.
