We stayed at lakeside lean-to (#6) and had a great time. There was a fire pit and a charcoal grill with a nice view of the lake and good shelter under the lean-to when it rained. No black-bear sightings but lots of wildlife about if you look and listen. I would’ve left 5 stars but ONLY complaint was in regards to the latrine. I completely understand that this is a rustic campground and loved the experience overall, but the latrine was not kept clean at all. If you’re going to stay here please clean up after yourself :)

Really beautiful place, spacious, though I wish it had more nature/wildlife. You can fish here, only with an NJ license and its catch/release. The lake is pretty much held up by a wall to keep it clogged and the trails are just man made that don't really lead anywhere. Overall, beautiful place with really nice wood!

We go here to hike. There are several great trails with plenty of beautiful views of the surrounding area and NYC in the distance. The trails are easy to hike for the most part.

Spent a lovely autumn night at the Southwest Campsite! It was clean and well-maintained. The site provided an ash can and shovel for the fire ring. We did see a black bear poking around a nearby campsite briefly after we arrived so be aware that they are in the area and pack out all trash and food when not in use. The website said that the sites were all booked for the weekend but we were alone in the area for the night apart from a group of folks by the lakeside - guessing some damp weather and drizzles scared a lot of people off. It’s a beautiful and quiet area with easy access to parking.

My family lives on snake den road and we typically catch using minnows. My Father-In-Law is there everyday and catches one or two typically while he relaxes in a chair with a cigar.
