I had an appointment for 9:40 but got there at 9:00 so I checked in. I had such funny happy people helping me and was in and out in 20 minutes and was home in Alpine by 9:40. Heck ya, I'm really impressed!!

Just recently I went to the DMV to do my permit test. I have several questions to ask in regards of. My first impression, is that this lady name Shannon or Sharron wasn’t very friendly at all and was sighing a lot during the questioning. She did not explain things very throughly and whenever my mom ask more questions about the driving education details, she repeat it in a higher tone of voice like she was mad. The time was around 10-11 A.M. and at booth 19.

Like a well-oiled machine. Everyone was so kind and helpful. It was late in the day when you'd expect people to be cranky, and they were all really nice and courteous and smiling. It was efficient and smooth and everyone knew how to help and how to guide people. Was so pleasantly surprised! Made a usually unpleasant chore not so bad. Thanks to all the DMV staff in El Cajon.

To bad there is not 1/2 stars because that is what I really want to give. They want me to bring my new trailer for vin verification, registration and taxes that was $3000.00 dollars and NO place to park for this process. Our horrible administration needs to change to accommodate the good wholesome tax paying citizen and cut off the losers!

I have applied online for a lost driver license. It will be mailed to me in 3 to 4 weeks. In the meantime, can I get a temporary license on line or do I have to go to the dmv in person?

Go to DMV Express Online & i believe you can apply for a replacement ID/LIC. try it!!!

I already filled our the Real ID application and uploaded the documents and received a confirmation number. Can I make and appointment or just show up to get my Real ID?

I went to DMV with my confirmation no.,bring the HARD COPY of all the Docs that you uploaded, go in the line that says - Appointments/ DMV Express, ADA (this is right outside the door) - and when you get to the agent at the top of the line, show your Confirmation Code, she will ask for your docs. She'll tell you what to do next. Hope this helps.

DMV Walk-in's are absolutely welcome. However, given the lengthy lines I suggest arriving fairly early to provide enough time to be seen for each service requested during your visit. To apply for a REAL ID driver license or identification card you must provide: proof of identity such as an original or certified copy of a U.S. birth certificate, U.S. passport, valid unexpired Employment Authorization Document card (I-766) or valid/expired EAD card with Notice of Action (I-797 C), valid/expired permanent resident card with Notice of Action (I-797 C) or Approval Notice (I-797) or an unexpired foreign passport with valid U.S. Visa and approved I-94 form. Be sure to have enough cash on hand or a major credit card to pay the cost for services and any fees that might be included. Good Luck!
