Southern maid donuts used to be the absolute best donuts in the entire world! They also made a pretty solid burger. However, something has changed and it isn't for the good. The donuts aren't bad. But nothing that sets them apart from the other donut shops in the area. I don't know what they are doing differently, but wish they would go back to the old ways and back to the best donuts on the planet.

I stop by often and get a dozen for my office. The donuts used to be amazing but the staff was not. Here lately (past 3 or 4 times I’ve gone) the staff has been very nice but the donuts are constantly tasting old. I see reviews of hot gooey donuts but I have never had one from here. I keep going back hoping it will be different and get disappointed every time. EDIT: since I can’t reply, first off, I never said your establishment was a disappointment. I said I have been getting disappointed. Second, as I said in the review… here lately the staff has been very nice. When someone is rushing to get their coworkers a treat for breakfast I don’t always have time to get names and ask questions. Third, I never knew I was supposed to ASK for hot donuts….. I don’t usually have to ASK for hot donuts at other places…..
