I slipped on Ice and broke my ankle I’ll be out of work for a total of 7-8 months and ssd says I have to be out for a minimum of 12 months to receive any benefits I am a single mother and struggling I don’t know what to do

Sue the person who owned the property where you slipped on ice.. You have to be out of work for 12 months to collect ssd.. sorry but keep your head up!
