What a hidden gem! Straight off taconic parkway. Very beautiful and clean beach. I suggest you get there early on the weekends. Get packed pretty quick.

Beautiful place, great views of lake and the forest surrounding the park. BBQ area is great, big trees provide a good shade from the sun, great place for day outdoors with the family.

Yes, they will check to make sure you have a fishing license so make sure to have it.
A little late on this but you are allowed to wear goggles if it only covers your eyes. Goggles that cover the nose are strictly forbidden in the water.

We came to the lake on a weekday. There were no lifeguards on duty and swimming was not allowed. People could wade up to their knees but no further. There was a ranger who patroled the beach and walked up to anyone he saw that took a dip thinking no one was watching. They would also go on the loudspeaker and remind us no swimming. They told us on weekends they have lifeguards. I don't know if this is only temporary until school is out or if it's for the whole summer.
It's open now. You just can't swim outside of the swimming season. Open from sunup till sundown
