Yes in Texas you need a license if you are over 16, state parks no license needed. You can verify this by checking with Texas parks and wildlife website. I would check before you go just in case the law changed. License for fishing cost $12 for day permit and if memory serves me $35 for the year. Marine creek is free to visit. No launch fee at ramp but also no large boats. Have never seen a yacht on the lake. Great place to kayak and fish.
