The medical staff can't admit when they are wrong . When they are wrong and it is pointed out to them, they kick the patient out of their facilities. If you get referred to them, I highly suggest getting referred to somewhere else.

... the shoulder? (Just a guess)
If the doctor suspects nerve issues. I get shoulder pain occasionally from a pinched nerve at the wrist that has 3 fingers numb, tingling and slightly painful. Pain can travel up or down nerve paths.
