Went here today for tea with a group of 5 adults and 3 small children for my mother's 78th birthday. My sister contacted the place a few days prior and made sure kids were welcome and let them know we were coming to celebrate our mother's birthday, but we weren't expecting anything special beyond the already determined tea service. When we arrived at 1:30 we were told there was going to be a wait for maybe 45 minutes to an hour. Fine, no big deal, we will hang out and enjoy the scenery. Almost an hour into our wait, a table large enough to accommodate us opened up, but the server did not approach us to let us know. We walked up and inquired about the table and were given a vague answer and that they were busy and they would try to seat us soon. After quite some time passed, we were approached by the server to say they were out of scones and they would reduce our per person charge to $10 because they could only give us cookies and ice cream. Fine with us, we would just like to sit down. It was hot and my elderly mother doesn't do heat well for too long. Server also said she would seat us at the open 6 person table in a little while but she was going to wait till it calmed down a bit. Don't understand the logic in making us wait longer. Just seat us and get to us when you can. About 15 minutes passed and a party of 2 that got there after us went ahead and sat down at the 6 person table we were supposed to be sitting at soon. Well that's pretty unfair. Shortly after that, another 6 person table right next to it opened up, and after it was bussed, it sat there empty for 10 minutes while we waited and hoped that we would be approached by the staff to be seated since we had been standing around waiting for 90 minutes. Next thing we know, a group of people that got there about 20 minutes after us were seated at the table. We decided to give up, and while figuring out where to go get some actual service (Monk's BBQ in Purcellville is awesome btw) the server had the audacity to finally come over and say she could seat us now if we were ok being split up. No apology or acknowledgement that they had dropped the ball not once, but twice. No thanks, we'll take our money somewhere deserving. Blooming Hill, we understand you don't do these tea events very often, but you have some customer service issues to work out before the next one. What an utter and complete waste of our time. We won't be returning in the future for so much as a sprig of lavender.

We are only 4 1/2 acres and our dog has been attacked before by visiting”friendly” dogs so we discourage dogs. thank you for asking. Cyndie BLooming Hill

Good morning, Just recently I discovered your lavender farm and have a few questions. Noticing you are open Friday and Saturdays is this open to the public and is there a charge to stroll your grounds? Do you offer tea luncheon for two on those day

Hi Elizabeth, We are planning to hold the tea for your group out on our covered porch. If it is just raining, everyone will stay dry as we have done this many times before. 21 people for cream tea will fit very comfortably there. I would advise you to tell your people to dress for the weather, however. Also, the tea is late morning so, hopefully, we will miss the raindrops as the rain seems to come in the early to mid-afternoon. I know the hurricane is coming up the coast but it should stay well west of us. I'm sure there will be rain but fingers crossed it won't be too bad. If you have cancellations because of the weather, it is too late for us to cancel but we are happy to send the food home in individual plastic food boxes. Cyndie Blooming Hill
