I applied for a permit for electrical work and was told in order for the permit to pass I had to get permits for 2 other unrelated jobs that were not being worked on and were not even in the scope of any future work. I paid for those extra permits only to find out that I did not need them and I was not issued a refund.

I'm currently installing a 60amp subpanel in the garage with the help of a licensed electrician and I wanted to make sure the code is followed to the T, Jim Miller has been nothing but exceptional in answering all my questions as NEC code could sometimes throw you off with a different interpretation. Jim provided clear answers and also went above and beyond in explaining why it is what it is. I'm glad I got in touch with him and without him I would have ran in circles to get the subpanel installed. I have the inspection scheduled and I'm hopeful everything will be OK. Good luck with your project!

My father and I started Electrical Connections LLC in 2003. We have dealt with countless municipalities and departments throughout the DMV. Have dealt with numerous inspectors hundreds of times. The team that Frederick County has put together are true professionals. Many contractors fail to understand that inspectors and contractors are the same team in keeping the community safe. This office and field staff are great to work with and which every county/city inspection department had this culture.

This County operates Different than any county I have ever worked with. As a Electrical contractor be prepared to have a on site meeting with the Head Inspector before you even start your work. The Head inspector will be on you like white on rice but if you preform quality work then you guys will get along just fine. Mr. Bob Ensor does not pity a fool. If your looking to cut corners, Lord have mercy on you because this will not be a nightmare of a job for you.
