Horrible experience. The loudspeaker announced that my train, 65, would come to track 3, so when train 87 showed up at track 2, I assumed it was not my train. Then, when I checked the train status, it said train 65 had departed already. I called Amtrak and it turns out that train 87 had been my train, but how was I supposed to know if it was not labeled as 65, which was what was on my ticket, AND it was on the wrong track. I never received any notification that my train number had changed OR that the track number had changed. There was another man on the same platform as me who was also trying to take train 65 to a FUNERAL, but this same situation had happened to him for the past THREE DAYS in a row, and he missed the train AGAIN due to misinformation given by the Amtrack announcement and website. To make it worse, the departure board was frozen and displayed the wrong times.

Adequate station with VRE and Amtrak service; it is unstaffed and there are no bathrooms. The tracks are side-by-side, dividing the station; the platform for each track is separate. Thus, if you guess the wrong track, you have to hustle through the tunnel under the tracks to reach the opposite platform. Boarded Amtrak there this morning and it was confusing at first which of the two tracks we needed. There are info screens, which appear to be a fairly recent addition. It is important to pay attention to the screens when waiting for your train. The track for our train was posted, but only a few minutes prior to the train’s arrival.

Yes, unless there is some Special Event going on in the City of Fredericksburg.
Not to my knowledge the only overnight parking that is safe is at the parking garage in downtown itself.
No. You can take the VRE (train) to union station in DC. Take a MARC to Baltimore. I dont know if the MARC has a stop near the airport, - you'd have to coordinate that piece on your own.
You could take Amtrak from Union station. I believe there is a train that leaves around 1900 hrs
They automatically end up at your destination. You dont have to re-check them in.
The parking garage always has spots and unless a festival is going on downtown, you can usually find parking within 2 or 3 blocks of your destination on the street.
Yes, have to book it through Amtrak

Hi Jillian there is no overnight parking in Lots A and E upon looking at the VRE website but there are certain parking spaces that are reserved my opinion I wouldn't just to play on the safe side
Here's a link with all the information to you need. https://www.fredericksburgva.gov
1 hour and 25 minutes.
Talk to the travel agency that usually sells tickets in Fredericksburg who said the same however I have been there when no announcement was made which is why I asked a question. I had to run on to the other side to get the train and have someone hold the train until I got there. Thank you though
My guess would be $7 or so. Remember VRE is only on weekdays. Call Amtrak at 1 800 usa rail
