I am a new tenant. No one from management did a proper walkthrough before I received the apartment into my ownership. I have logged in upwards of 30 service calls already. new issues come up every single day. Big, structural issues such as broken and leaking toilet, clogged bathtub, malfunctioning gas stove, etc. Management is not willing to address the issue by mitigating rent parameters. I would never recommend this community to anyone. Apartments are not modern, things are outdated, broken worn out and there is serious disruption to work and personal life with loud neighbors who do not care to lower noise level even after 10pm. We have even called the service company for their washers and dryers. they don't work because they are really old and washing and drying elements are broken. It takes 3 cycles to dry your clothes. No one from the service company bothered to respond to our request. Stay away from this apartment complex!

I lived in the parliament apartments for 6 months and had a great experience. The building was always cleaned daily, the staff being very nice, and I felt safe here. It was a pleasant experience seeing so many families living here with young kids. As for the reviews that talk about it being noisy , of course it can be … because it’s an apartment complex, so that will be the case everywhere. Sometimes when work needed to be done at the apartments people would come into your apartment without any phone call or notice and so it did upset me a couple times when I had come back from a walk with my dog and then coming back to someone in my apartment was a little unsettling. But overall I will miss the parliaments and it was nice. The only other negative thing is that there was a ton of broken glass and food (chicken bones and weird other things) outside and that made it hazardous for my dog but the employees were always working hard every single day all day cleaning up outside and inside so that definitely was not the apartment workers problem as much as it was the residents who lived here

The worst part about living here….the residents. Hands down. The residents here are the sole reason I would never recommend living here to anyone. The residents here LOVE to hog the parking spots for DAYS TO MONTHS!! There is a car that has been abandoned for a year and has all 4 flat tires yet has not been removed from the property. It’s covered in DUST! There are even cars with expired plates just sitting outside taking up spots. I’m sick and tired of coming home from work at 2pm to find absolutely no spots even close to the entrance because the residents here are absolutely lazy and disrespectful and are ENTITLED!!!!!! The residents that have reserved spots will park their other cars in other spots and basically leave them there till they want to drive them. Right now, outside of the high rise there are literally 3 cars that are basically abandoned with literal JUNK inside the cars. So is anything going to be done about this or are you going to continue letting residents ABANDON their cars and take up spots for other residents?

Yes, it's horrible. Very hot inside the apartments and we are lied to by management about it.Very hard to clean home and sleep, too.
It technically starts at 11pm-6am but I found out the towing company and SMC works together to have paid spotters (usually janitorial staff) looking into cars around 10:30pm to keep tab of vehicles with temporary parking passes. Towing usually takes place around 2-4am. Security says they are not allowed to have vehicles towed after hours, even though the front office and the leasing terms explicitly states they have authority to have a vehicle towed after hours....except that is not the case. It must be called in by a staff member of the Parliaments regardless of time of the day (hence mention of paid spotters above) otherwise the vehicle cannot be towed. I have spoken with Fairfax Dominion drivers, #43 and #45 and they have explicitly stated they do not tow vehicles without tags and only focus on expired pass violators after hours.
Residents phone number will lead into vm for emergency maintenance when office is closed
Absolutely. All the fauna you can imagine. Apartments get sprayed but nothing works. You have not seen such a roach infestation and bug infestation in your life. Before we even took full ownership of the apartment and we settled in, there were roaches in the sinks in kitchen and bathrooms, inside the dishwasher, in bathtubs. We are running away from this place very very soon. When we moved in, our apartment was completely broken. Leaking toilets, clogged bathtubs, broken electricity wiring, dirt. No one from management cares about complaints. They are never addressed. We have filed endless complaints about nasty noisy neighbors. Nothing is ever addressed. Run the other way. look for modern and customer service oriented rental management. This is not it.
The walls and ceilings are paper thin. Creaking all day long. Loud music from all directions. Weed smoking on balconies. These are all facts. We have called security, police and front office to deal with these issues. No one cares. You will lose your mind. You won't sleep. The neighbors are the nastiest we have ever experienced. Kids have no manners and run around all day long jumping on the floors which you hear through your ceilings. You will either burn alive in the summer when it is 85 degrees in your apartment or you will go insane from the noise that is NOT addressed. Look for a different place. We are leaving soon it is absolutely the most horrifying rental experience we have ever had.
