I really liked (and suggest for most people) staying on the main Alum Hollow Trail, it's the most clearly marked and 'easier' path to walk. The really neat waterfalls, creek, and caves are found on the far west side of the trail, near the intersection at Alum Hollow/OakBluff/Ranger Trail. I will say, I also did Ranger Trail on the way back, and it was pretty difficult and very poorly marked. There were countless times I was searching all over for tree markers and often there was no clear trail to follow, just random rocks and paths leading off into all random directions, trying to find your way through. I even had the AllTrails app running with GPS (I highly recommend), and had to keep pausing to find my way through. I went in July, and even though the paths are mostly shaded from the sun which is nice, there were tons of mosquitoes, and you'll be walking through and eating spider webs for the rest of the day on these 'less traveled paths'🤮. Overall, the Hollow trail was really nice, and much more friendly for the average person. There's a ton of other trails back here to hike, so have fun and don't get lost. ;)

A beautiful day to hike the Alum Hollow Trail. The trail is well maintained. The rock shelter was neat to see and the small waterfall didn't disappoint.

Nice easy trail. Nothing really technical that we saw today. There is one patch that is supposed to be hard, but with a 13 week old puppy it wasn't an option today. Falls were pretty. There was even a nice group of kids out picking up trash.

I wanted to go here at night because it was on top of a mountain that overlooks the city and I wanted to see the city's lights at night but when I drove an hour to get there they had a gate that blocked the entrance so that nobody could get …

Currently there is no waterfall. There hasn't been any rain. Park at the land trust trail head off of Shawdee Rd. Follow the Alum Hollow trail for about a mile.
