I hate to give a bad review especially for a place i have enjoyed many times before but unfortunately the experience my friends and I had last week was not stellar. The waitress was rude - definitely a first for House of Kobe. To the point she delivered the wrong food to our table and walked away while I was trying to say that it was not my order. They were busy but had a lot of staff on the floor. Water didn't get refilled until my friend loudly offered me her water because it wasn't going to be refilled. Even w the food it was half n half. The octopus salad and mish mash and miso soup were all splendid but the egg omelette and the Japanese bagel and the wine were horrible. One of my friends had hibachi n her salad was terrible - just dry cabbage n very little dressing. The dishes my friends received were way too salty. Both involved soy - which I blame. I only had a bit of it for dipping and whatever soy sauce they are now using is terrible. My friends wanted to complain to management and only didn't so they wouldn't embarrass me. I had suggested Sushi Bomb and wish we had gone there instead. Truly dissatisfied with the experience but hope it was just an off night and they will change the soy sauce and the next time will be the stellar experience I generally have there.

Let me start by saying that my family (2adults and 2 children) love this place. We’ve come here probably 70+ times (in the past 8years) for all occasions. Anniversary, birthday, just because, and more. Tonight we were celebrating my birthday at our favorite restaurant. We don’t make complicated orders, in fact, we don’t have the starter salad or soup, nor do we eat the large amount of veggies they give everyone else, we usually only get chicken, shrimp or salmon. Nothing extravagant. Tonight, It took an hour for the chef to arrive at our table. He nearly burnt everything that touched the grill. Those were not major deals, we happily waited and ate what was cooked. My issue comes with the check. They attempted to force a gratuity upon us. When we saw that and asked why it was never there before but now it was, she blatantly told us it’s because we don’t tip. The last time I checked, tipping was optional. Beyond that, we budget these visits carefully and allot what it takes to pay for the meals. When confronted, they said that no one in the establishment wants to serve us because we don’t tip. They says the tips are all their employees make and we impact their living wage. There’s a few problems with that. First, if they do an amazing job, then pay them what they deserve, tips should augment their income, not be the sole benefactor. Second, tipping is optional. And to force loyal customers to tip is a sure fire way to lose those loyal customers. We will not be returning to this establishment. Which is a real shame. My 2 children were very sad to learn that their favorite restaurant treated us so poorly that we have to abandon it.

Yes, you can call in and they will package it all up nicely for you.
I don't see that on the menu, but I'm sure you can ask them about it.
