It's alright. The customer service is half and half. Sometimes seems like a smaller store but maybe it's just me. The customer service desk is always happy to give me quarters on laundry day and that's awesome because my bank won't even give me quarters.

I HAD NOT BEEN TO THIS SAFEWAY IN SEVERAL YEARS WITH THE PANDEMIC. YESTERDAY ON A HIKE FROM NOB HILL, I PASSED THROUGH THE BLACK POINT TRAIL & CAPTURES DOME AMAZING VIEWS. THEN DOWN TO THE MARINA DISTRICT, I STOPPED AT THE SAFEWAY & PICKED UP A FEW ITEMS FOR DINNER TONIGHT ON MY WAY BACK HOME. WHAT I LOVED ABOUT THIS STORE - IT WAS NOT CROWDED WITH PEOPLE & EVEN AS LATE AS IT WAS WHEN I ARRIVED - IT WAS STILL STOCKED WITH PRODUCT - EVERYTHING I WAS SEARCHING FOR ON MY LIST - I FOUND. IT RECEIVES TWO THUMBS UP FROM ME & MY TWO BIG TOES TOO :-) TONIGHT'S DINNER: GREEN LENTIL CONFIT (SMOOTH & CREAMY YET TEXTURED) A SIDE OF WILTED RED SWISS CHARD & SHALLOTS WITH PAN ROASTED WILD CAUGHT TAIL ON SHRIMP IN COCONUT OIL & TRIO FRESHLY GROUND PEPPERCORNS -FRESH GARLIC & ROASTED FRESH GINGER & CILANTRO. FILLING YET LITE & DELICIOUS.

Safeway is good but a bit more pricey than some other stores. The Sushi they have is pretty good for being a grocery store, and we usually get Steaks, Chops, or Hamburger from here. They really have whatever you need and they are not as expensive as Whole Foods, but not as cheap as Walmart. Safeway is right in the middle.

Has everything a person could need! However, if you use the self-checkout, be prepared for a lecture if you need any help. The service is not too terribly nice.
