The menu is not expensive. The service is fast and efficient. tasty food. Busy place you have to wait for a table. Payment in cash only. I will definitely go back to eat there again.

CASH ONLY. On a weekday there was a 20 minute wait. I ordered 3 dumpling dishes and the scallion pancake. The Xiao long bao is the best tasting dish out of all. It was juicy and full of flavor. The steam and fried dumplings were good but pale in comparison to the xlb. I would come back for the xlb again. They had a large menu which would be good since something for everyone. Place was a bit warm either no ac or weak ac. Service was acceptable, food came out timely and water was refilled promptly. Bathroom was ok clean , requires going down the stairs so not the most accessible. Located in Chinatown where parking is difficult to find.

We made it a point to visit Joe’s Shanghai because it popped up as having the best soup dumplings in NYC. We were not disappointed. We had that and a chicken entree to share. Be prepared to wait a bit but it is completely worth it for the food and atmosphere.
