Last Monday I donated stem cells for my dad. My dad was diagnosed with lymph gland cancer in March this year, and he is still receiving treatment. MSKCC Hospital treats patients with sincerity, and my dad, a patient, admires for the kindness, and I agree 100%. The whole family confirmed that it is a good hospital. The apheresis procedure took 6 hours, followed by a 2 hour observation of anticoagulant response and surveillance for side effects. Dr. Hong and nurses have a lot of knowledge and experience. — You explained well in detail. I am now attending nursing school and would like to apply to MSK Cancer Hospital when I graduate next year! Around March when covid19 cases were rising, my father was diagnosed with lymphoma. He speaks highly of the special Care provided by MSK for his chemotherapy and radiation treatments. I agree 100% now having experienced first hand care from their dedicated staff. Peripheral stem cell collection was done at the Blood Donation Room on MSK’s main campus last Monday on my father’s behalf, who will have an allogenic stem cell transplant soon. The length of the apheresis procedure was 6 hours + 2 hours of observation and monitoring the adverse effect I had to the citrate anticoagulant. Dr. Hong and the blood room nurses guided me each step of the way with much attention and patience. Memorial Sloan Kettering’s reputation is very well deserved and well earned I am currently a BSN student and would be delighted to work among the staff of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center someday and give my future patients the same care I received!!
