We went about two weeks ago and had a blast. There were many children in all ages and it was safe. As long as you are right there next to them. My son is 7 and 4'7 so hes a bit tall but played with no problem. Would recommend water shoes because of the rocks.

I am not sure if it's open on Memorial Day. It is free for kids under 3 years old, 3-12 years old it's $5, 13-59 years old it's $6, 60 years old and up is $5 ,and spectator is $2 ,but on weekend's are $2 more for entry.
