Overall, not a great experience. My wife ordered food from this place as there seems to be many positive reviews online... However, it is clear to us that it is overpriced, low food quantity and quality (found multiple hairs in food)... I'll save my money for Thursday's Valley Junction Farmer's Market & Food Trucks... I'd urge you to do the same...

The Mapo tofu and the potato filled pancakes are very tasty. The menu has lots of vegetarian options especially compared to most Chinese restaurants. I ordered takeout from across town and the takeout was packaged very well. I'm excited to try more vegetarian dishes from their menu!

In town for the caucuses and ventured out to explore the close-in suburbs when my family stumbled upon this magical little Main Street in Valley Junction, West Des Moines. It was later in the evening so the street was quiet but this place was lit up and open for business. When my partner looked it up he saw they specialized in Szechuan Chinese and we knew we’d found heaven!! Food from this region of China is the best— in the world! Spicy, if you’d like it to be, but otherwise just full of flavor. The night we were in it was Super Bowl Sunday and (rightfully) guessing we’d want to watch the game during dinner, the owner came out to personally offer us a comfy spot in a private space just on the other side of the main room. In no time we found ourselves with a beautiful spread of food and an unforgettable half time show. Again, heaven!! Food was 10 out of 10! The dan dan noodles made all of our troubles disappear. Please don’t skip that dish. Then we had the Szechuan dumplings = best we’ve ever had, and a specially beef hot pot that was flavorful and just spicy enough. The Scechuan chicken is like popcorn chicken, but just lightly breaded. Salty and addictive! The sweet and sour chicken is above standard, served mild for those who can’t handle the heat. Oh, and the wonton soup is also a must! Can’t wait to visit Des Moines again and make our way back to this Heavenly spot, where the food — the service — the ambiance are a gift from the gods :)

The family and I went to Heavenly for an Asian style brunch, minus the alcohol (night before was rough for a couple of us), we had many goodies, food coma is soon to be our best friend.
