Josh and his team at Crestview Public Adjusters were extremely easy to work with. A tree fell on our house after a storm and I reached out to Josh and he went to work right away. He made the process really easy and answered all of my questions. His team took care of everything and the results were excellent.

Marc and Josh what a team...Marc spent the time to really hear and understand our pain points dealing with ASSURANT INSURANCE COMPANY ..The worst insurance company to deal with the worst staff... I would go through details but too much to cover and my family and I are just glad the nightmare is over thanks to Crestview Public Adjusters...would recommend to anyone...

Crestview was an absolute pleasure to work with. We got a call from a long term commercial tenant at 6am the morning after Hurricane IDA saying there is 4 ft of water filling up the space and that they were doing a walk through that day to sell their business. Crestview got their contractors over right away . We were able to prevent a lot of damage due to their quick response. Once onsite, they assessed all of the damage, we discussed rebuild plans and there was little for me to do as a landlord other than cash a check. Josh's assessments' were accurate and he was easy to communicate with. They also took a holistic approach to maximize my payout and even got the physical payment expedited so we can begin the rebuild. I would definitely use them again.

Questions & Answers

I already agreed to a settlement and got a check, but I’m still having issues from the damage done to my property. Is there anything I can do about this?

A public adjuster can still help! Sometimes, things come up afterward that prove that the damage incurred was more substantial. However, it’s often a good idea to have an adjuster help from the beginning. Make sure that you don't sign a release that allows the insurance company to be absolved from any damages found after the initial claim.

I already received an offer from my insurance company, but I’m not happy with the amount. What do I do now?

Can I have the contractor who is repairing the damages to my property help me settle my insurance claim?

Certainly not. A contractor's job is to repair your property, but they can’t help with the settlement process. Only public adjusters have the expertise, and legal authority, to help you settle your claim.

How is a public adjuster different from the adjuster that my insurance company assigned to my claim?

The adjuster assigned to your claim by the insurance agency works for the insurance company. Their job is to settle your claim as quickly as possible and for as little money as possible. On the other hand, a public adjuster works on your behalf and serves as your representative to negotiate with your insurance company.

If you are concerned about the potential cost of damages to your property, it is a good idea to hire a public adjuster from the beginning to ensure that the process is taken care of correctly. However, if you think you might be able to settle your case on your own, follow these steps: 1) Get a reasonable estimate of damages. 2) Make sure that you have sufficient insurance coverage. 3) Get an appraisal if there is any question about the value of your property. 4) If you are not satisfied with the insurance company’s settlement offer or if there are other issues that need to be resolved, this would be the time to hire a public adjuster to ensure that your are being compensated appropriately.

What's the difference between an insurance adjuster and public adjuster?

Crestview Public Adjusters | Jan 22, 2022
Crestview Public Adjusters | Jan 22, 2022

General insurance adjusters (or private adjusters) are the people who deal with insurance claims on behalf of an insurance company. They are also called insurance agents, claims adjusters, or field adjusters. Public adjusters are those who handle this process for policyholders or clients on their own, without being affiliated with an insurance company. The main difference between these two is that while a private adjuster works under the supervision of the insurer, a public adjuster is not beholden to any one company and can work for whomever they please.

A public adjuster’s job is to get their clients the most money for their insurance claim. They do not represent the insurance company, but rather the policyholder (homeowner/business owner). While these professionals aren't lawyers, they have a lot of experience with how insurance policies work and may have an inside scoop on how to get more out of your claim. According to the Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability, Policyholders who used public adjusters received an estimated $9,379 on their claim, compared to $1,391 for those policyholders that did not use a public adjuster, a difference of 574%.

Public adjusters are professionals who act as an intermediary between the insurance company and the home or business owner. They help people recover losses after any sort of loss by guiding them through the insurance claims process and presesnting their case to the insurance company in the most effective way possible. The main duties of public adjusters are to negotiate with the other party, to act as a mediator, to act as an investigator and provide expertise on claim settlement procedures.
