As an Italian I felt at home, both for the type of products and for the atmosphere. Optimal!!

Mangia has been around 40 years+ and pioneered farm-to-table menu in NYC. Still my go-to spot for lunch since 2003 when my office moved to midtown. Varied food options including the prepared salad section which I love! Arugula with fennel! Recently includes castelvetrano olives! Also great paninis with Pizza bianca bread. Pizza bianca is Rome’s version of a focaccia - flat bread with an outer crispy crunch. The Campo Panino is a classic and one of my favorite sandwiches. The original version was CAMPO PANINO roasted asparagus, spinach, black pepper and herb mayonnaise, roasted fennel, on pizza Bianca bread. Really awesome! The new version is CAMPO PANINO roasted asparagus, spinach, vegan mayo, roasted fennel, on pizza Bianca bread. BLEH! Does not have the oomph of the original version. The mayo makes a difference. And the filling is skimpy lately. Really a travesty cause Mangia ruined a really good sandwich. Very disappointed!!! Edit: I was there yesterday and went to the sandwich counter and NO, they do not have black pepper and herb mayo. Mangia ruined the CAMPO PANINO!

This restaurant is recommended by locals. It's like coming to New York and eating right. From simple meats to vegetable and cheese salads, the variety of food is varied and the ingredients are fresh. You pick your own food and count. There is a salad bar, sandwiches and juice corner. Bread, sweets, coffee, and fresh fruit are also available. I went out for breakfast because it was close to my accommodation, and I spent a leisurely morning in New York with delicious food.
