Beautiful building. The library has such a rustic look about it. Also, the President of the German Society is very humble. I asked him, "is your position to make sure everything runs smoothly?" His response, "In theory, yes. The truth is, there's a bunch of volunteers who actually tell me what to do because they've been here longer than I have, so I don't mind washing forks and spoons"... (He was cleaning the kitchen). Pretty dope!

We had our wedding ceremony in the library at the German Society this past weekend and it was phenomenal! Liesl was incredibly helpful, responsive, and reliable. She made the process easy and took the time to walk us through each step. Furthermore, she went above and beyond to help us set up the space ahead of time. We were so grateful for the way she handled everything during the stress of wedding planning! Furthermore, the library was a beautiful and meaningful spot for our ceremony. There is a tremendous amount of history tucked away on the may bookcases. Overall, we could not be more happy with our experience here!

I think this was an award given to someone who belonged to the Liedertafel Club that was located at 6th and Erie Streets in Phila Pa. The date appears to be Dec 29, 1868.

The Xmas Village in Philly has horse carriages, and it would be great to tell the City, that horses don’t belong in that crowded area!!! This past village, I saw a horse’s face come within 1-2 feet from the back of a car, as they both turned the corner! Thank you very much.

Hello Steven. We do not offer any programs like the one you describe. You might try PhillyKinder: http://www.phillykinder.org/
Hello Gary, the German Society has a small private parking lot. It is located on the North side of Spring Garden Street between 6th and 7th Streets. If that parking lot is full, there is plenty of street parking in the area, or there is a public parking lot at the corner of 8th and Spring Garden St.
Yes. Hit the website and look around. The women's auxiliary is also part of the gsp and that's sort of a women's club within the gdp.
There is a parking lot in back (entrance on Spring Garden St), but is locked up when society is closed
Thanks. I live in Los Angeles so I can't go in April but thank you very much.
The German Society has a parking lot that is open to members and guests of the Society.
