Felt like I was at a resort in Florida. Seems random, right? But growing up a Florida family, I have an eye for these sorts of things. Swim labs does a great job facilitating an open water swim just outside Denver. The location sits within a residential development and likely a private HOA community. The reservoir is perfect for Triathlon training. They have buoys set up for a 0.6 mile and 1.2 mile distance swims. I went for the first time last week and there was something nostalgic about having the sunrise as I swam in the open water. I’m considering getting a season pass for next year as I enjoyed it that much. Even if you’re not training for any race, but want to expand your fitness horizon, this place deserves a look. Make sure to fill out the waiver and pay online before arriving. It just makes the checkin easier. Oh yeah, and don’t forget your ID. They hold onto it as a safety precaution while you swim. Enjoy!

Definitely a lot of fun and one of the only places for open water swimming in the front range. The Grant Ranch facilities are very nice as well.
