My new favorite book store! Based on my first visit, the prices are comparable to Half Price Books but they seem to have a better selection. I don't even live close to Kaboom but I will be back soon.

Phenomenal browsing, you explore this store and think, maybe I collect books now. Great selections of art and photography books. Eye candy everywhere if you're into browsing. The most interesting stuff is all $10-30 more than I wanted to pay, but it's all lodged in my mind now so maybe I have to go back and pick it up.

Dark dingy place, wanted to sell books but clerk wasn't up to date on that, not very cordial!

Extremely rude over the phone, called to ask permission for photography in the book store and before I could even finish my sentence on the entire scenario, whoever it was on the phone interrupted with an abrupt “no”. Too bad, wanted to support a local small business instead of a large corporation. Small business and smaller mind.

Yeah, I've seen them carry all types of books, travel, literature, academics, teen, children's, fiction, nonfiction. Great random selection.
If you have 2 or 3 boxes bring them in. Not Saturdays
the dude working there will not only find it, but tell you all about the subject. the place is a must visit when in Houston.
They do give cash but it depends on what kind of books .... You can also get book cash credits which you can respend on books there.
They have an extensive selection of children's books. Stock is constantly rotating, but your best bet is calling ahead or just visiting the store, the shop keeper is very informed on what has come in recently.
Thanks for the inquiry. No not a Medical Section or textbooks. If you are looking for specific titles feel free to call or text
They buy certain kinds of used books. Call or go by and bring the books you want to sell.
Yes, but they don't buy everything like a Half Price Books would. They don't do mass market paperbacks or things like that. You can call for more information and details.
Yes we do have a Poetry section
We thoroughly read the COVID For Dummies publication, highlighting throughout. Since reopening 3 spaced-apart days a week, as of October 1st, we have maintained a mask policy for ourselves and for customers. We apply hand sanitizer to all incoming customers. We ourselves wear gloves. All hard surfaces within the shop are disinfected before each opening day, and at intervals throughout the day. The maximum number of customers allowed is 13 for 3900 square feet of retail space. Our patio doors are kept open to enhance air flow. Any book that is handled and not bought by a customer is discarded into a bin and isolated for 3 to 5 days before being restocked. If more fashion forward hazmat suits were available we would probably wear those, as well.
Within Poetry we have two to three thousand individual titles. We also have Memoirs , Letters, Biography and critical material related to poetry. Our foreign language poetry stock does not extend beyond Romance languages.
Try Becker’s Books. Becker’s has a very solid Texas History and Houston History . They will be able to help you.
Sorry we aren’t interested
We handle about 83 different sections, ranging from history to social sciences to literature of all sorts . We do not handle what we don’t know. If you wish bring in a box or two of what you are are interested in selling
They have mostly very good condition used books, from what I could tell
Thanks for inquiry. We don’t handle romance books
I think this store has used books in Spanish.
We have a Cartooning section which includes a very small amount of Magna.
Yes we have a sizeable cartoon and humor section with several of Shultz’s Works currently in Thank you.
The prices really very by the type of book and other specifics but you can find relatively cheap $5-20 bucks books here. Some are even cheaper than 5 bucks. Just depends. Definitely worth the look though.
