Signed my kids up soon as the registration open and they didn’t get picked I had to email them and find out they didn’t get picked but they said my kids could come do drills sometime like really what are the qualifications for a child to play soccer I thought this was just a friendly lil soccer game but no! we didn’t even get a interview or a call only to send multiple emails and voicemails to find out my kids didn’t get picked

This organization is a monstrosity. The only helpful person that works there is Dee. 2 stars for Dee. The people in charge only like people that have lived in the community for a long time or are already established players. We're new to the city and haven't heard anything good about this organization from several people. Everyone keeps mentioning Bernadette, but she solicited a bunch of reviews from friends, neighbors and other people from Facebook. I'm sure Google will figure that out pretty soon as they usually do and shut the page down. Or just smart people that read comments will.

I love the Rowlett Youth Soccer Association. In our 1st season, I too was asked to coach. I was a bit hesitant, but I am so glad I did. I've really enjoyed coaching and helping them improve their soccer skills. I've loved watching them grow and develop friendships with their teammates. As in most volunteer positions, you get out of it what you put into it. It has been incredibly satisfying and we are making memories that our family will cherish for the rest of our lives. Being able to set practice times and locations is a plus too. We are about to start our 11th season with RYSA and they have been great. They have skills night for the kids and coaching resources for new and experienced coaches. Youtube is also a wonderful resource to make everyone think you're an awesome coach. This is rec soccer, so it is less competitive (and less expensive) than the club leagues. RYSA is geared towards fun experiences for the kids and developing their skills. RYSA is a non-profit that depends almost entirely on volunteers. These people have jobs, lives and families outside of RYSA and often volunteer with more than one organization. Some have kids that are grown, but they still volunteer because they care about their community. Unfortunately it is often difficult to get people to step up and volunteer for their kids activities and their community. It's disheartening seeing people whine online every time they have a bad experience somewhere instead of giving people the benefit of the doubt, especially during these strange and challenging times. We never know what people are going through in their lives.
