-unexpired out of state license -car insurance -Texas car registeration if you own a car (Moving from out of state you must get plates for your car before a drivers license. This is handled at the tax office not the drivers license office.) -Birth certificate - Social Security Card -Passport - Bill in your name proving residency -Payment This is what I needed when I went the other day... Also a note- make sure you have a paper copy of everything. They will not accept items on your phone.

Walk ins are very limited. You need to at least be there by 7 to be one of the first to walk in w/o appt. They may take about 5 walk ins then tell you to come back later date.

What they have on the website says that they have limited same-day appointments, first come first serve. Got here at 7am and there were already 5 people in line ahead of me. Still waiting on them to open.

Yes. However, they have a limited amount of same day appointments available. If you want to secure one of those, you should plan on arriving very early. Sometime around 4 or 5am would be best. If you're not one of the first 5 or so people there then I'd just go home and try again the next day. Make sure you have all the documents you need because you won't wanna sit out there that whole time again.

I had to go and get my birth certificate. Had to pay 23 dollar's.went to the court house.because it had to becertified.before dps would do anything.and you have to have a appointment at the dps office.

You have to make an appointment online however you can get a walk-in appointment, it's first come first serve so if it's really urgent I suggest you get there early. I was there at 5:30am just to be sure I got an appointment. I got one for 10:30 that morning

Appointment only is what I was told. Always ask (you would have to call) if there is an opening.

You can technically "walk in" but you have to wait in the "no appointment" line and wait for someone to cancel for that day, you could wait a couple of hours or a day, I didn't have an appointment and I waited in line for about 3 hours when someone canceled i was able to get done what I had to. Well if you get it in Terrell call before hand. Take two forms of ID. Check out on web site what is considered valid ID. Hope that helped. PS if you want to go in be prepared for a long wait unless you schedule an appointment.
