This course has beautiful views of the ocean, however that’s about it as far as quality of the course goes. The fairways were dead and brown with other areas that were rocky and not even grass. Also there were very few yardage markers on the fairways. The greens and tee boxes were very nice, everything else was barely passable. For the price, I expected better and wouldn’t return here

The golf course is so wet they shouldn’t let you play. They make you walk and that a good thing , It’s a swamp. They charged us 50 dollars to walk 18 holes with a pull cart. If that sounds good to you go right over and play a round. To bad I’ve played this course a few years ago while on vacation and it was very affordable. That’s why I took my friend this year. Won’t play again.

We played 9 holes here during August of 2020. There is a drought, so all of the fairways were more like a desert. Unmaintained regardless of the drought. Several holes have wonderful views of the water, but the cart paths and overall state of the greens need some help.

Some of the most scenic golf you will ever play. Fairly unassuming course from when you first pull in and see the first fairway. The pro shop is small and simple, the staff courteous and helpful. Greens fees are reasonable. The views from the #2 green, #3 tee, #3 green, and #4 tee are some of the best in golf, anywhere at any price. You overlook the Mt. Desert narrows and then Mount Desert itself. You can see lobster boats coming and going getting their traps. Honestly, it's pretty hard to not be distracted by the scenery! The course plays well, has a much older feel to it. The fairways can be dry in spots and wet in others. The greens are in very good shape. Sand in the traps is a more coarse type you usually find in New England sand traps. In the half dozen times I've played here, I've never had to wait on any hole. Pace of play is pretty quick, playing 9 as a single took an hour and a half the last time. If you're in the area and you play golf you must give Grindstone Neck a try!
