I must say I am only on day five and the pain that I have been feeling for the last few years is completely GONE. Instead of a long road to recovery I feel like I have just the right path.

Hello and thank you Nano clinic and especially Dr. Ferro. I was operated on Nov. 10th 2021 by Dr. Ferro for a total left hip replacement. I am 75 years old and very physically active. This pandemic has curtailed my hobby of dancing, but recently was invited to a private dance by a friend, Donna. It was as though I had not even had the surgery, let alone my hip. I never really shook the lower extremities all that much in dancing and couldn't afford to loose any more of the swing of the hips. All was exactly as before. Nano clinic and Christine helped me with all the arrangements prior to the actual surgery. All was perfect. The Hotel was excellent and even supported a very necessary and wonderful eating establishment, literally next door. All went exactly as planned and I gotta say if you need a hip, or knee go to Dr. Ferro at his Nano Clinic. You will be glad you got his proprietary method of replacement. He's not an average Doctor. 29 years in development of his soley owned method of surgery. For crying out loud they actually printed my replacement hip in Titanium. God bless. KARIS

My father, 77, had his surgery 5 days ago and so far, has been extremely happy with the recovery. Less swelling and no bruising than his last traditional full knee replacement surgery he had 8 years ago at Kaiser. The staff was nice and put him in easy prior to the surgery. The day of the surgery he was walking with a walker and felt good. On the 4th day he no longer needed the walker and was walking with a cane. We can't believe how fast he is recovering. This surgery has been life changing. He is extremely happy and excited. I still can't believe how great it has gone. We are so grateful for the Dr. Ferro and his wonderful team. Thank you!!!

Thank you Dr Ferro and all the staff at Nano Clinic for all your calls and e-mails to see how my recovery is progressing. Genesis thank you for your help when I called and your patience with me. All the staff is professional and courteous. Hats off for such a competent staff. Thank you also to Christina and Pam for your professional support.

Questions & Answers

What kind of surgery is this and how long it takes to hill my knee?

Balgis Hajianpour | Oct 19, 2019

Hi there! Thanks for your question. Our procedure is a minimally invasive alternative to a total knee replacement. There is still a 5 to 6 inch incision at the front of the knee. However, our surgeons employ several minimally invasive techniques to ensure that our patients can walk after 1 hour and go home within 2-3 hours. As far has healing goes, you should be back to basic levels of activity after 6 weeks with full recovery happening after 2-3 months. I hope this helps!

Is there weight Restriction

Marsha Kirk | Oct 19, 2019
NanoKnee Institute | Oct 18, 2020

Hi Marsha. We do recommend having a BMI under 40. However, with BMIs between 40 and 50 we can still schedule you for a consultation and in many cases still do the procedure.

Why isn't it covered by Medicare and my second insurance? I was required to pay cash in full and refused to accept my credit card.

Darryl Schumacher | Oct 18, 2020
NanoKnee Institute | Oct 18, 2020

Hi Darryl, I apologize for any confusion. We do accept Medicare and PPO secondary insurance. While it usually covers the entire surgical procedure, there can be an additional cost for the 3D processing we do for every patient. This cost is dependant on the patient's insurance. We usually dissuade people from making large payments via credit card because we are required to charge a 3% service charge on large debit and credit transactions. I hope this information is helpful. Feel free to call us if you have further questions or would like to talk more about the procedure.

Thank you for the question, Violet! Dr. Ferro has been performing the Nanoknee procedure for the last 4 years. However, he has been an orthopedic surgeon for the last 30 years.

Does this work for shoulder replacements as well?

Hi Caren, thanks for the question! Unfortunately we do not do shoulder surgery. We only work on knees and hips.

Is it medicare approved. If so will medicare and anthem blue cross supplement cover the cost completely?

harry redmond | Oct 19, 2019
Shari Alhanati | Oct 19, 2019

It says covered by both on tv. I would call anthem blue Cross first and ask. ABC is covering Medicare now. ABC would know definitely ----ask if it is ACCEPTED.
