My fist visit to dental hospital ever, I had sever tooth pain, so I called them for appointment and visit here and they were organized as I had a minimal wait before being called back. All of the girls in the office as well as the doctor were friendly and professional. Dr. Srujani gadusu and Mariyam treated me like a baby, they answered various questions with so kindly without making me feel rushed. Both of them explained things along the way and what to expect. The doctor had a great bedside manner. Srujani was very informative when it came to pricing and insurance questions. I would definitely recommend them.

Wonderful experience! Everyone is always so friendly & helpful. I'm doing the Sure Smile through them, so I'm there much more often than just twice a year cleanings. Highly recommend!!

Questions & Answers

How can I improve the whiteness of my teeth?

Kelsey Ivers | Oct 18, 2020
Canyon Creek Family Dentistry of Richardson | Oct 18, 2020

Over time, your teeth can appear more yellow or dull. You could try over-the-counter whitening solutions, but they don’t really make a big difference. At Canyon Creek Family Dentistry, we offer Opalescence Teeth Whitening, which is proven to brighten your smile. This effective treatment delivers the dramatic results you’re looking for in a short period of time.

How often should I get a dental checkup?

Kelsey Ivers | Oct 18, 2020
Canyon Creek Family Dentistry of Richardson | Oct 18, 2020

Along with the American Dental Association, we strongly encourage you to visit the dentist twice a year or every six months for your checkup and cleaning. These appointments allow our experienced dentists to perform a thorough exam of your teeth, gums, and mouth for any sign of serious conditions like gum disease or tooth decay. By identifying and treating these conditions early, you can avoid more intensive and costly treatment later.

Why should I have dental x-rays taken?

Kelsey Ivers | Oct 18, 2020
Canyon Creek Family Dentistry of Richardson | Oct 18, 2020

Although our experienced dentists are excellent at spotting potential problems, there are several issues that can’t be easily detected by the naked eye but can be captured by our digital X-rays, which emit significantly less radiation than ever before. For instance, we use them to determine whether your wisdom teeth are impacted and to find tooth decay in hard-to-see areas like between teeth. X-rays are typically taken once a year as part of your checkup and cleaning.

Why are my teeth sensitive?

Kelsey Ivers | Oct 18, 2020
Canyon Creek Family Dentistry of Richardson | Oct 18, 2020

There are several potential reasons for tooth sensitivity. You could have tooth decay that has penetrated to inner layers of a tooth. Perhaps your gums could have receded, exposing the roots of your teeth, which is often caused by gum disease. Or maybe you grind or clench your teeth, wearing away the enamel. In any case, you should tell us about your sensitivity so that we can properly diagnose and treat whatever is causing the problem.

How can I replace missing teeth?

Kelsey Ivers | Oct 18, 2020
Canyon Creek Family Dentistry of Richardson | Oct 18, 2020

You have several tooth replacement options to restore your smile: dentures, bridges, and dental implants. Dentures are prosthetic teeth that are mounted to a plastic base made to look like gums. With bridges, the restoration is anchored in place by dental crowns adjacent to your missing tooth. Dental implants are surgically placed titanium screws that become integrated with the jaw bone with an abutment and crown placed on top. Contact us for a consultation to discuss which option is right for you!

Do you offer payment options?

Kelsey Ivers | Oct 18, 2020
Canyon Creek Family Dentistry of Richardson | Oct 18, 2020

We process and file claims for most PPO dental insurance plans. For large cases, or extensive care and multiple procedures without insurance, you can receive a discount if you pay in full upfront by cash or check. We also offer third-party dental financing through Care Credit. To learn more, contact us. Our team members have years of experience and can help guide you through the payment process.

What can I expect during my first exam?

Kelsey Ivers | Oct 18, 2020
Canyon Creek Family Dentistry of Richardson | Oct 18, 2020

Welcome! From the moment you walk in, you can expect to be greeted warmly by our staff. During your first exam, our hygienists will take digital X-rays of your mouth and give your mouth a fresh start with a dental cleaning. Then, we will conduct a thorough exam of your gums, teeth, and mouth as well as examine the X-rays to ensure your oral health. One of our dentists will address any concerns we noticed and answer any questions you may have.

What kind of dental technology does the practice use?

Kelsey Ivers | Oct 18, 2020
Canyon Creek Family Dentistry of Richardson | Oct 18, 2020

We try to stay at the forefront of technological innovations so that we can provide each patient with the most precise diagnosis and treatment possible. Our technology includes intraoral cameras, which help us show our patients what our dentists see on our chairside monitors. We also use digital X-rays, which emit less radiation, and digital bite impressions for a more comfortable patient experience and more precise measurements for our dental labs.

Does the dentist use any relaxation or sedation techniques?

Kelsey Ivers | Oct 18, 2020
Canyon Creek Family Dentistry of Richardson | Oct 18, 2020

Our team is committed to making your visit as relaxing as possible. For those with dental anxiety, we are able to offer a couple of sedation options, including nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedation. Nitrous oxide works fast and helps patients feel content. Oral conscious sedation allows patients with more severe anxiety to be awake but have little memory of the dental appointment. We want everyone to get the dental care they need, and sedation dentistry helps us do just that.

Kelsey Ivers | Oct 18, 2020
Canyon Creek Family Dentistry of Richardson | Oct 18, 2020

My teeth are crooked. Do I have to get braces?

Kelsey Ivers | Oct 18, 2020
Canyon Creek Family Dentistry of Richardson | Oct 18, 2020

In years past, traditional metal braces were your only option for straightening your teeth, but now you can get Invisalign with us at Canyon Creek Family Dentistry. In as little as 12 to 18 months, you could have a straighter smile without having to live with metal brackets and wires. The clear alignment trays are virtually invisible when worn and gently shift your teeth into the desired position.

Do you treat periodontal disease?

Kelsey Ivers | Oct 18, 2020
Canyon Creek Family Dentistry of Richardson | Oct 18, 2020

Definitely! At Canyon Creek Family Dentistry, we know that gum disease detection and treatment are important, so we check for this condition at every routine checkup. If still in the early stages, your gum disease may be treated and reversed using a simple dental cleaning. For more advanced cases, we may need to perform scaling and root planing to ensure that you don’t become re-infected.
