The call takers are absolutely personal, unprofessional, and I believe out of their minds. Called in about a Zion beach disturbance, where the park ranger was not letting me see/stroll the campsites in my vehicle, was told by the park ranger to walk the 241 camp sites, yes whole whopping 241 campsite area with my two elderly parents(one of who had recent knee surgery) during a heat advisory 90 plus degree weather mid day. Mind you I was instructed to drive there by their own park personelle over the phone to see the sites the day before when trying to book a campsite for 2 days which was not possible to do online. Without the online option I was not able to see which sites were available to me on map. I simply followed their own instructions. So I called the Zion police department when the ranger refused to lift the gate and let me see the camp and told me my only option was to walk and to either have my parents walk, left alone by themselves, or leave. The police call taker first was argueing with me that the park has their own rules that I need to follow or I just don’t enter even if the rules don’t make sense or are not reasonable, to which she said “everybody takes risks, it’s your own choice to walk the park in 90 plus degrees or leave, it’s like skydiving, you make your own choices and risks” to which I said “no this is nothing like skydiving mam, there are vehicles entering without being stopped and they are actively driving in the camp, skydiving is nothing like asking to drive slowly in a vehicle with the ac running to keep my at risk parents cool and out of harms way, it’s the opposite of skydiving” I told her that was all I was asking for and she just made it too personal and unprofessional with no consideration for human life or proper judgement. Finally at the end the call taker informs me that Zion beach is not their jurisdiction, and they can’t help me. Finally after asking if there’s no one they could send they connect me with the parks PD/DNR. AFTER ALL THAT….thanks Zion Pd, you made it very difficult…..could have just redirected me without all those nasty colors. Don’t let these ppl bully you or deny you services because from my experience they will do everything FIRST not to help you.

The dispatchers are Nice, and the officers were as well. My garage opened and I didn't open it nor did my son. I called the Police and the dispatcher was so understanding. The Cops were at my house in less than 5 mins. They checked everything out and showed me how to locked my garage from opening if someone had a remote. S/O the Zion Police Department

I have been leaving several messages to get ANY KIND OF UPDATE regarding my son's murder case from back in 2013 up until now (and will continue to). I get NO RETURN CALLS NO VISITS even if its just to say the case is at a standstill. Just so I'll know his case is not forgotten about!!! Especially when this happened right across from their police station!!! It's very disappointing!!
