I have been here twice before and will visit again in August 2022. One more destination which is, always, in the state of change. Paths are easy to navigate. There is a Primitive Campground and Shaded picnic tables. Spend a few hours or overnight. Sunrises and Sunsets are always great for photographing.

We were visiting South Dakota & my son wanted to check Nebraska off the map. I randomly chose this for our destination. The drive there was so vast & beautiful. This location is really in the middle of no where so do not expect your gps to work perfectly. This was one of my son's favorite visits on our trip, he loved walking through the Toadstools and he wanted to stay longer. He said we need to come back every year.

Very cool place to visit. Do the Bison Trail so that you can enjoy the views from the grasslands above the formations. I rode a bike through the double-track up in the grasslands and had an incredible time. If you plan on camping, the campground is nice and not too expensive. Great fire pits, sheltered tables, and trash bins at every site.

Beautiful and wild. The sweet smell of the grasslands is intoxicating! Highly recommend the 1 mile self guided loop.

I don't believe you can know availability beforehand, especially in the off season. We were just there a few weeks ago - there are no hookups for campers/RVs. Also, you have to travel rough gravel roads for about 20 minutes to get there. I would recommend camping at Ft. Robinson State Park and leaving your trailer there to visit Toadstool with just your vehicle.
Yes. There is no electricity though. Primitive. There is vault bathrooms there
Yes. It's $3 per car -theres a box and envelopes. $6 for campers
The road to Toadstool is very dusty and gravel for 15 miles. Washboard is common. The Campground has no trees but a large circle drive that had the campsites spiraling off it. There is plenty of room for your camper if you choose to drive the gravel road. Loved the Toadstool geological trail. 👣
Camp year round. But it is primitive camping. No electrical or water. Beautiful place though
It is a federal protected area. Dog needs to be on a leash all the time and respect quiet hours in the campground.
I don't believe it is allowed as it is federal land.
I spent a couple hours there. Just watch the weather for rain as the road up can get greasy
Drove there in a mini-van, camping/sleeping in your car is available. $3 for day use $5 for overnight.
I believe its open year round. Check there website
