My lil Micro-Mutt makes me laugh all day. I got my 9th lil rescue pup from Almost Home Animal Rescue. The organizers and foster parents are awesome. And they will work with you anyways possible to make sure it's a good fit for you and the rescue. That's not all, I know if down the road if I need any help with my lil 6# Chi-Weenie I named Treasure they will always be there. One of Almost Home Animal Rescue's requirements was to have another pup in the home and I can see why. Treasure was very timid, reserved and scared about everyone and everything. She was very fearful and having a companion dog is very comforting to her. She has come out of her shell so much. They now run and play together like sisters do. Keep away, chase, tug of war and walk all over Mommy are their favorites games. Treasure makes a great companion to her Big 12# Sister, my 8th rescue pup from Mini-mutts Rescue. Tiara Ember (A.K.A T-Rat) is a Toy Rat Terrier and has taught Treasure how to be a dog, how to use the crapper flapper, burrow under the covers and demand treats. They are two different breeds, but look and act like sisters. A perfect combination for me. At night, I get to be sandwiched between the two of them. She loves to curl up in the crook of my shoulder and neck when laying on the couch. When I call her Silly girl she flips and flops on the floor until she gets a tummy rubbing. She chases the little tennis ball and actual brings it back to me. Her kissy-kisses are the best and she is so loving. If you can't adopt, you could foster, donate or volunteer. I've had so much pleasure from my Treasure and her foster mom made it all possible. I will forever be thankful to them! Why Buy While Shelter Pets Die? Don't Shop~Please Adopt

Clean shelter, with friendly staff. I would love to visit again and adopt.

We recently were interested in dog they had posted(Copper), and after submitting an application we called often so they would know we were really interested and we have yet to hear back, we were told Copper would be at a PetSmart event they were having so we drive out and Copper never made it out. For a shelter who eagerly posts about adoptable pets they don’t seem to want to get them adopted into homes. Just a day ago they posted about Copper being adoptable and still no word from them.

Only once have they responded to my email saying they would get back to me about my adoption application after 5 business days. That was in the beginning of January. My cat had recently died and I had a really good feeling about this kitten they posted. So I left several emails and phone messages after the promised date but they never respond if my application was accepted. It seriously makes me wonder about their commitment to finding animals good homes.

Check with them and other pet advocates to see if they have suggestions of any resources to help you afford your pet. Some rescues will place an adoption ad on their site while you foster the pet until they find a new home for them. Hope that helps you and your pet :)
Hi. I adopted from Almost Home Rescue. Most rescues here in Texas only adopt out in the immediate area because they do home checks and like to make sure the adopted pets get along with both the humans and other pets. My pup's foster mom came twice. They also provide advice and periodically check on how the adoption is working out. I would check your immediate area shelters and Puppy Jails (the pounds) or work with a rescue to find the special pet waiting for you. Good Luck finding your new family member!
