Hi Jo, We carry several different native plants for Texas. Are you looking for anything in particular?
Typically from the sides/around that branch; not from the end of where you cut it. Be sure you're not pruning your trees during their peak growth season. Pruning is best done in early Fall or early Spring. The colder temperatures help prevent disease.

They have so many trees, so many varieties...and the succulents, the succulents are just amazing! This is by far my favorite nursery in all the DFW!
