Minot is a dainty little town but really nice and pretty especially this place called Scandinavian Heritage. You will find a world of Scandinavian history in this park such as : Replica Gol Stave Church Dala Horse Danish Windmill Stabbur Casper Oimen statue Hans Christian Andersen statue Etc β¦ One can go inside the Stave Church and look around , feel the vibe , touch the carve wood . Also, itβs interesting to be inside a Stabbur . Imagine yourself living there during the old times π kind of comfy with the wood materials . Imagine , up in that 25 feet tall Dala Horse . You can conquer the townπ If you have time , go and enjoy an afternoon picnic at the park.

My family decided to make it to Minot to visit this park because of our family heritage as well as another location in Minot. We enjoyed our visit here. We picked up a meal at a nearby drive-thru and ate at one of the covered picnic tables. We enjoyed lunch at the park in great weather in June. We visited the visitor center which had unique gifts that we haven't seen before and found plenty of Scandinavian items to bring home to family. We visited each of the monuments in the park. The only monument not in good condition was the ponds which might have been off due to the summer season. Each of the monuments have a phone number and location number to listen to a description of that monument/location. I enjoyed visiting each of the locations in the park. The Gol Stav church building and Heritage House were very informative to local volunteer tour guides to answer questions and share their history. The giant Dala Horse made for a fun photo opportunity with children and family. There was staff on site and all were friendly and helpful. This park was fun, informative, and unique. To stop and have a picnic lunch made it more relaxing and enjoyable.

So fun and interesting! My kids loved it. So much history here. Was nice to sit down inside the chapel and listen to how and why itβs made that way.

Hi Kris! You sure can bring your dogs in the outdoor areas of the park, just make sure to have them on leashes and to clean up after them. There are two pet waste stations β one on each end of the park.
The outdoor portion of the park is open 365, with snow being cleared from paths in winter months. Buildings are open May 17th until the first weekend in October because they are not heated.
Hi David, there is no cost of entry to the park or buildings but we do accept donations at cash boxes throughout the park or securely on our website. We hope you enjoy your visit to the Scandinavian Heritage Park!
It was established in 1988 with the first building be dedicated in 1990
