What a great place for the whole family (unless you don't like reptiles, etc)! Alligator and snake shows that are great for the kids and interesting for adults, lots of "hands on" or cageless viewing with safer creatures, too many creature displays to see them all, snack bar for lunch, reasonable admission and food prices. Great day trip. Seems to be a regular attraction for local families.

Love the Dome! Second trip here, love the reptiles and birds and plants. Wish the viewing areas were not as scratched as they are. Go when outside temps cool a little, watching the shows are difficult in the sun.

June 7, 2022. The whole family had fun. This is a very nice zoo they have several shows they do at different times of thr day. Both are informative and you can interact with a snake and a baby alligator. Plus you can pet there big tortoises. We spent several hours walking around looking at all the exhibits and watching the shows. Staff was super nice. They also have a nice gift shop.

They live up to the expectations. Lot of reptiles starting from lizards, snakes, crocodile to 100 year old tortoise. We loved petting the tortoise. The gift shop was very creative with lot of gift options . We spent around 3 hours in the reptiles garden. Will visit again if in the area.

Hi Payton! The snake show is offered every day that we are open to the public, 4 times a day in spring and fall, and 5 times a day through the summer. We are so fascinated by snakes it can sometimes be hard for us to *stop* talking about them. We will be open in 2019 starting March 2, and likely continue through November. The presence of wild butterflies on grounds is entirely up to Mother Nature, but our Jungle Outpost does have a selection of framed specimens which range from about $30-300, depending on how many are included in the frame.
There is plenty of coverage you shoupd be fine. Bring an umbrella to be on the safe side. All 3 shows are covered.
Hi there! Time spent in the park can vary greatly - some Guests are on a very tight schedule and stay about 2 hours, others are die-hard reptile enthusiasts that might peruse the grounds the whole day. We find that in the summer, the average visit time is about 3 hours for Guests who see all 3 shows (and we highly recommend the shows!) In spring and fall, it averages about 2 hours. I hope this helps!
It is open, but a lot of the outside attractions are closed or restricted not because of Covid, but because of temperatures.
Talked to the manager and the gator shows will be starting again next year. There was some logistical issues due to Covid so they had to post postpone them for staff safety
1st week in March. Don't forget your ticket will be good for the rest of the year, if you request the season pass. 😀❤🐍
Yes. They have an affordable cafe area with covered / shaded seating. Check out sone of my pics.
I'd imagine thwy will be because there are so many people traveling to that area for the holiday. You may want to give them a call.
Yes! I went with my greyhound and she was able to go most places here! So awesome they do this!
They informed me because of covid they were not currently having the bird or alligator show. However, you can feed the alligators, but you have to pay for this. They are having the snake show. They also have the free range botanical dome open to walk thru. In there is free range birds, snakes, and lizards.

Yes, but they are not allowed in every area. Would not recommend bringing your pet.
I went to visit Reptile Gardens about a month ago. Due to Covid-19 some exhibits were temporarily closed. All the snakes I saw were behind the glass. I do not think there is an option of meet and greet with the snakes.
Hi there! Not sure if you're looking to buy or sell, but we are a zoo and unfortunately do not do either. If you want further information, feel free to call us or message us on social media.
No all the restaurants are closed. No food services open to the public.
What Denise said! You can always call us or check Google, Facebook, or our website for updated hours and rates!
I believe his name is Tank. *Edit* Sorry for the misinformation, Tank is the biggest.
We open June 15th, and will be open daily from 9am to 4pm.
As of right now, we plan to open on June 15th. Check our Facebook and website for the most up to date information.
You'd be better off calling
Hi Mike! What we can offer varies depending on the weather, so our admission varies accordingly. Now through November 30, 2019, adult admission is $12 and children are $8. If you'd like to investigate our rates for 2020 you can find them on our website: reptilegardens.com
Hi Mike! We have plenty of rattlesnakes. So, no thank you. Please exercise extreme caution around any you may find in the wild.
Good morning Keith! You can pet a giant tortoise in the tortoise yard, pet a python after the snake show, and pet a young alligator after the gator show. Your admission covers ALL these things! For safety reasons, our staff hold the snake and alligator, and we ask that the tortoises are not lifted (though, good luck trying to lift a 500 pound tortoise). This ensures that our animals are not injured.
We are having an amazing Mother's Day thing this year! On Saturday AND Sunday (May 11 and 12, 2019), mothers can get in free with a donation of two cans of food for our food drive, and receive their free season pass.
Fantastic! We are open now and will be open on April 20th as well, 9am - 4pm. We usually close our doors December through February.
Call them or put in an application. Google maps isn't a good place to ask for jobs.
Hi there! We are closed December through February to do a thorough clean and upgrade of the exhibits. We will open at 9am on Saturday, March 2, 2019.
Maniac, our massive saltwater crocodile (the largest species of living reptile in the world) was about 16 feet, 2 inches when last measured. We estimate he weighs around 1,350 pounds. We do not have an exact current weight, because none of our scales are big enough for his bulk.
It's a large lot, we just parked ours in a corner out of the way of everyone.

I believe it's late September or October for the outside shows but the things inside the dome stay open all year, I think.
We do not have any say in where the animals from that case end up - right now, they belong to the city of Rapid City.
Almost..
Children 5 and under are free and for adults it was 18$ per person
They do have a big parking lot but I'm not sure if it would hold that big of a trailer
Open 7 days a week. Summer Season: May 25 Sept 3 8:00 am to 6:00 pm We stop admitting guests at 6:00 pm, but the grounds and gift shop will be open until 8:00pm.
Head south on highway 16 (mount rushmore road). You'll go down a big hill and at the bottom on the right is reptile gardens. In the left is an awesome golf course Heart ranch. If you continue south and go up the hill, on the right is Bear Country, another must see. Not too much farther on the right is Old McDonald's farm, a great petting zoo, and puts and glow, and indoor mini golf course with black lights! Lots of fun on that route
Adults (13 and older) $14, children 5-12 $10, children 4 and younger are free, seniors (62+) $13, military service members and spouses $12. Ask for their "vacation pass" when paying for admission. This is FREE and gives you a pass to return for free any other day for the rest of your vacation. We had fun here and I hope you do too!
Yes adults are $14. Children 10 and under I think are free. I have a 1.5 yr old and she was free.
