Depending whether its a new car or used car makes a difference. Vehicles that has been titled before takes longer because once we finish the first deal involving your son's car, we have to pay the bank off. Depending on mail & what the bank has gong on weekends, holidays, people out sick etc. It can take awhile to finalize their original loan and send info to the state to release the lien. Then your sons deal has variables like speed in new bank funding to dealer. We don't move forward until deal is totally paid. Then we submit for new title and depending on the state (same issues) of when the application gets there and how backed up they are etc it can take more than the normal 2 to 4 weeks. We issue a 60 day tag for this reason. New cars tend to be quicker since there isnt a need to wait for title & lien to be released as with used cars but often we have to wait for days or weeks to get payment from bank which can delay things. Hopefully this was helpful though late.
