Yes there is a small boat ride up and down part of the canal.
They aren't taking out the old one. Which is in really good shape. They are restoring the aqueduct, which should be done by the end of the year,or early next year. Once they are done repairing the aqueduct they will fill the canal. Williamsport will have one of longest working sections of the C&O canal.
