The Commission provides a valuable service, but the staff is chronically late for appointments. You can hear them chatting away in the back on obviously personal business as they leave clients waiting. And waiting. The receptionist is very nice, though.

I found the commission to be of no help. The councilor is rude and condescending, missing or being late to meetings. I would not recommend nor should the state continue to fund this program without first reviewing the mission and the programs ability to fulfill it

This is the most helpful place for the blind and visually impaired in the state. More people need to know about the services they provide to aid those with visual problems get on their feet.

Our Low Vision Store does not require an appointment and is open 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM Monday thru Thursday. The Low Vision Clinic does require an appointment. If you want to meet with someone about one of our programs, an appointment is recommended to make sure someone is available.

We offer Orientation and Mobility training and the airports should have someone who can help her get around.
