Not a good place for contract workers. How do you guys have enough staff when your nurses are on the floor as CNA's

This is a much needed facility for our valley veterans. As a veteran myself I’m glad to have it. Unfortunately the Human Resources, nursing and dietary department are full of nepotism and cronyism. There will be certain staff that would get away without the everything such as med errors or refusing mandatory overtime. But if you aren’t part of their circle, you can count on getting a write up. Friends and family of the DON would make mistakes all the time and it would be quickly swept under the rug by the nursing supervisors. We had nurses that would transfer over from the prisons and they would transfer back after a few months because of the horrid working environment. The lady in charge of the HR, Donna, literally rang on my door bell throughout the day trying to serve me termination papers while me and my son were super sick. My husband ignored it because he thought it was some random lady selling Avon and Mary Kay. Anyways, I wouldn’t work here unless you are good with the department heads.

Went to do community service for the veterans last month by donating key chains.. great staff and got to talk with some of the veterans…due to the privacy of the staff and veterans, will not post any of the photos taken with them

Nepotism and favoritism is strong here. Especially in building one and HR. If you aren’t on good terms with building one supervisor or her family in HR/ golden worker(s), you’re outta luck.

Yes, remove name label
It's a home for the elderly. Residents there are housed in a locked memory care unit for Residents with Dementia or in 1 of 2 convalescent units or in multiple assisted living units. The key word is elderly.
Depends on the needs of the veteran. Contact the home to set up an appointment. You can get more detailed information that way.
Call 559-493-4400, ask for admissions.
Fill out application and get on the waiting list it took six years to get my ex-husband but it was totally worth it
Yes. You can visit jobs.ca.gov to apply.
I know nothing about memory care or the list to get in. I had triple bypass surgery and was homeless and it took 4 months to get in
It's for senior citizen veterans. 55, 65 +. Their website shows it. 2 ways of being accepted if your under required age. 1) Must have 70% disability rating or above. 2) If you're homeless. Both exceptions are also conditions that would give said soldiers preference points over a standard, "of age" applicant.
No age requirements for spouse's
Call 559-493-4237, ask about getting a tour and an admissions packet for the CalVet Fresno home. If you are a veteran, getting in isn't a question, but do expect a wait which can vary, so the sooner you get your application in the sooner you'll be admitted. It's a great place to live, I can recommend it!
Call 559-493-4400
WiFi is now provided via AT&T for residents, there's also a guest portal provided by the home.
