I don't even know if I can give a 1 star rating. We (38 of us) stayed at Manhattan beach lodge for the weekend. We recognize staff shortages are everywhere but the place is falling apart and garbage was stacked out of the one can available for all rooms right at the front entrance and hallways. No help at front desk. Restaurant was not available to those staying but you could order to go only. Overcharge on rooms and the whitefish chain told me there was nothing they could do. I called the accounting office but you get a voicemail that announces it can't accept anymore voicemails and to call back another time. We visited 11 years ago when this place was one of the better resorts and sad to see they are letting the property go down the drain. We will not return and would not recommend to anyone. Sunsets were great however.

Beautiful location but the place is falling apart. Chunks of ceiling and walls coming off in the rooms. No outlets to plug in anything. No mini fridge. Docks are in rough shape. Only thing clean was the sheets. It's ridiculous how much it costs to stay there for what you get. The continental breakfast was absolutely disgusting. Eggs in zip lock bags, waffle mix ran out both mornings by 8:30 AM... and they open at 8. Bartenders were young girls who had no idea how to mix a drink. I think it is safe to say that it was the first and last time we'll stay here. Very unimpressed!

Great views of the lake, but dinner was terrible. Order the Legendary Walleye dinner, wild rice was cold and clumpy. Broiled walleye tasted like it was cooked in a microwave and and over cooked, rubbery, not worth the price.

Great place! The food was excellent and the aesthetic was cozy and rustic. We went to celebrate an anniversary and the place did an amazing job accommodating our needs. We had reserved a table for 8 and were able to set it up with gifts and other small decorations. They also let us drop off a cake that would be served during dinner. The best part? The view of the lake is really pretty! The worst part? Prices are a little on the higher end so just keep that in mind.
