I'm only giving them two stars for the fact that I had a very satisfactory encounter with the check-in and night manager. However finding blood stains on our sheets on our bed was totally inexcusable this just shows that they cut corners and cannot provide a clean quality stay

The place is beautiful. Lovely woodwork. Plenty of north woods type knickknacks all about the place. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and continue the north woods flavor in that the furniture looks like it was made from natural wood. The hot water was instant. Very impressive. But we were next to the laundry, so the water heater might have been right there too. Couldn't hear the laundry in our room at all. The only drawback to this amazing place is the not so subtle religious iconography everywhere in the common areas. As you walk up to the front door, you are greeted by a decorative cross made of Christmas lights. There are signs talking about prayer all over the front desk and in the breakfast/ common area. If you aren't Christian, it is a little off putting. Still... it's been a great stay. The staff is super friendly and helpful.

The accommodations were just fine. Pool was good. FOOD could be better , get waffles back and different choices in meat. Other food stuff was fine. Walls are paper thin you here loud talking loud music. Also fighting in the rooms and hallways and apparently on the night of the fifth there was a police altercation in the hallway. Sleep wasn't easy. I asked the attendance in the morning and they had no idea what I was talking about. We couldn't believe it. Our party had 3 rooms and we all heard it.

We couldn't find a single room on our way to Duluth from the twin cities, so we started looking for a slight detour into Wisconsin and found the Northwoods Lodge. We had a wonderful stay here!! The desk clerk was super quick and offered us towels for the pool right away and brought up a crib for our baby. The pool, hot tub and sauna were very clean and fun for both kids and grown ups! The building itself was very cozy and cabin like, and the room was also comfortable and clean. We are so happy we found this place and will definitely stay here again!
