Our home is still in the process of being built, and my plan was to post a review after completion. With the events that are taking place now, I am posting the process so far. We started our journey of a new build and signed with Maronda April 29th, 2021. We began working with Maronda sales representative Ty, and were told it would be from 9-12 months for completion of our home. There have been hold ups, but Ty was VERY honest with the fact that it possibly wouldn't be done in 12 months. We weren't in a rush, so that wasn't an issue. Ty was honest, straight forward, responsive, and a great guy. Unfortunately he is no longer with Maronda. Main issue: Our driveway was poured in the rain, not just a light sprinkle, a complete downpour, with pictures to prove. Pouring in the rain causes the cement to freeze and thaw in the winter, in turn causing it to crack. Not only that, the driveway looked plain awful. This was brought to the attention of our new Maronda representative, Patrick, and he stated that he was aware, and that he told the contractor it shouldn't have been poured, and the driveway would be replaced. Patrick is no longer with Maronda, we now have another representative, Christina. Christina let's me know that the project supervisor, Greg stated they would not be replacing our driveway, because they pour in the rain all the time. She also stated she saw the driveway, and it looks fine. ( It absolutely did not!) Our realtor, that's also a builder himself, let Christina know that it should not have been done in the rain, they were not being truthful with stating that it was normal, and the issue needed to be resolved. Maronda then had someone come and "clean" up the driveway by sanding it, and stated that's all they're going to do. The driveway now has no traction and the issue of it being poured in the rain is still not resolved. Christina had been very responsive, but since she emailed letting us know nothing else would be done to the driveway, she hasn't responded to any of our Realtors calls, or emails. Other issues: There was also a huge gash in the living room floor from a saw being dropped. We were told by Greg, that the floor board would be patched, it was not, they placed glue over the gash. We were told our yard wasn't graded yet due to a dumpster being in the yard, and Rumpke not getting it.... We didn't even ask about the yard, it was a volunteered lie, for absolutely no reason at all. We were referred to Maronda Homes by the owner of Brandon Homes, because of their quality work, and due to Brandon Homes not having available lots in the school district we needed. We have have been very understanding, and patient throughout this whole process. We are now disappointed, unhappy, and at this point we do not trust Maronda. Our thought is, If we're getting pushback, and stonewalled for a resolution on a known problem before closing, how will they handle any possible issues with the home after closing, and they have our money? This is a home, and a major purchase. We had the intention on getting an inspection before closing, with the way things are going, I think it's safer for us to be very thorough. We will not close until everything is resolved. I will update, with pictures as we move along....

I would not recommend this to anyone they have not kept me up to date or in the loop on anything. The whole process has been a nightmare and has taken over a year. I wish I would of went with Ryan homes they guarantied me 6 months and thus was well over a year

BUYER BEWARE! I have no idea who is going to read this but I would like you to know that we are very upset with the building process. We have been patiently waiting to close on our home. We were told that March 1st 2021 is our closing date. Due to Covid-19 they had some push backs, which is completely understandable. We signed our contract May 28th 2020. We were thinking we should close by the end of May 2021. That date has come and gone. We were then told June 30th. They said this is it. We even called just days ago to make sure we were running on time and when they reassures us we prepared to close on this date by having things delivered the day after and told our storage unit company that we will be done with their services at the end of June. The week of closing they send an email saying that they are in a tight spot so they can't close on the day and time that they picked. I give them a call to figure out what is the slow down and they say they don't know and will call back once they find out. I called the city to see if all of our inspections have been done and to see if Maronda scheduled all of our final inspections. The lady I spoke to said Maronda has not scheduled any inspections since April. It's June and we close in 5 days. The lady that works for the city said that Maronda needs to complete 5 inspections before we can close and they can have them all done if they hurry and schedule all of the inspections today. I called back to the office to report this information and the lady who answered the phone said she was surprised and she would speak to my boss and call you right back. I've called 5 times with no answer. Today(June 25, 2021) we are being told that our closing is being pushed back. It is very upsetting and unbelievable because we have nowhere to put our stuff from our storage unit. Our closing date has been pushed back 2 weeks. Please tell me what are we to do with our items from our storage unit. Everywhere we have contacted has a wait list. We are very upset and feel disrespected and lied to on a regular basis. We have lived in a Maronda home before and we enjoyed it but we haven't enjoyed this building process. We have been lied to and we feel treated unfair. We just want to have our beautiful home! We understand delays happen but to delay our closing in less than a week before closing is very hurtful and to not even have an explanation makes this even worst. If you are looking to build with Maronda just know that they will lie to you and tell you they have a 7-9 month turnaround time. No one we have spoken to has gotten into their home in less than a year. Be prepared to wait. We were going to go with Cristo homes and didn't due to sq ft per home being smaller. We made a mistake because Cristo finished their Model home and other homes within 7 months of signing.
