This place is a JOKE!!! They ask trick question on the application and if you plan on adopting a cat from here you better plan on saying it’s an indoor cat only otherwise they will not allow you to adopt. We drove over two hours to look at a cat and just to be turned away because we marked down that it would be an indoor/outdoor cat but mostly indoors.

You guys are straight up ridiculous & a phony. My dad has tried for years to adopt animals from them in the last application (2 years ago) he said he was gonna do in/out cats but has removed the cat door & will only do indoor now he has since made a new one stating they will be indoor cats & they still denied him. As well as many friends of mine have wanted to get animals but because there significant other is deployed/in military they will not let them. It’s ridiculous for us people who stay home as our significant others are gone & we want a little friend to hang out with us & make us not so lonely & sad & we get rejected constantly. How are you guys finding these animals a home when you reject everybody?

Great and caring staff. It's been five years since I adopted my dog from WAIF and with her adoption anniversary coming up, I'm reminded how lucky I am that I found her while she was being taken care of at WAIF. They're passionate about what they do and making sure the fit between a dog and owner is the right one.

Great crew at this shelter, they were very excited that we were there to adopt a cat. Hans had been there for months and we had taken a trip out to see him for adoption. Due to the fact our land Lord wasn't able to contact the vet to allow another pet we had to come back a week later but even though it was another trip over the Mukilteo-Clinton ferry we didn't mind. A week later we adopted him and are very happy with both the service and professionalism they showed during the entire process. Hans is very happy here with his new brother Shinichi. They have bonded well and we have bonded to him. Want to thank W.A.I.F. Animal Shelter for a great experience.

Actually, I think it's a requirement but call to confirm.
Call WAIF directly at (360) 678-8901 for assistance.
Never. I find they dont update their website. I have asked them to but still find animals available that aren't on it. Just go in and check out the animals in person. By the time they list them they've been there for awhile or already adopted
Thank you for your interest. We currently do not have a program in place that allows offsite field trips with volunteers.
Yes. What a great idea.
The website shows dogs and cats available for adoption as well as those recently adopted
